National Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The National Sales Manager’s role includes managing our Magnesium Sulfate (Epson Salt) product portfolio, all sales of the products to industrial customers, as well as being responsible for the short and long-term growth of the business.  The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success in business development, technical sales, product management, strong analytical and relationship management skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Duties will include both direct account and distributor management, evaluating and monitoring market trends, identifying new opportunities, and increasing profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Develop initiatives, growth strategies, and plans to meet business goals.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of Magnesium Sulfate products.
  • Establish contact and build business relationships within a variety of industrial markets including Agriculture, Animal Feed, Construction, Food and Beverage, Chemicals, and Water Treatment.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve maximum potential and produce results in the best interest of the company while respecting and delivering customer needs.
  • Follow, research, and make recommendations based on industry trends and best practices to improve company position and opportunities.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of clients.
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate effectively with local distributors.
  • Maintain CRM (Customer Relationship Management) data and sales forecasts.
  • Participate at applicable regional and national tradeshows including presentations, client tours, product showcasing, and other key industry networking events.
  • Collaborate and support sales efforts for Company colleagues.
  • Coordinate preparation of the annual sales budget.

Travel:  Ability to travel up to 25%.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Three (3) years of product management experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in sales to the agriculture/fertilizer and animal feed markets preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to progressively grow sales with five (5) or more years of relevant sales and account management experience.
  • Understanding of the purchasing processes and selection protocols for businesses based in the US and Canada.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, CRM – Salesforce.com, ERP – Netsuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards
