CFO for Start Up
The CFO is one of the top strategic leadership roles within our organization.
We are seeking a sophisticated, experienced, and competitive CFO to lead the financial and strategic growth of a startup.  Our environmentally conscious cement and concrete manufacturing company uses a proprietary technology that captures and recycles plant CO2 emissions to produce low CO2 emission biofuel.

Job Summary:
Set up, Direct and Oversee the financial activities of the corporation, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  1. Create department and financial processes
  2. Oversees department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  3. Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.

Drive growth, measurable value and establish core financial processes and reporting requirements. 
  • Create well integrated roadmap for strategic growth.
  • Drive metrics and presentation of results. 
  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Works with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
  • Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
  • Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
  • Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital as required.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Do you have prior executive level leadership experience in the corporate financial sector managing between $700M- $2B? 
  • Experience in the cement, biofuel or real estate industry is a plus but is not a requirement, prior experience in manufacturing is a plus
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions is preferred 
  • Proven success in revenue growth and market expansion, ability to look across multiple horizons
  • Proven skills in business strategy, market research, and the development and execution of a strategic growth plan are required
  • Experience in highly competitive, commodity industries a plus
  • Excellent management, supervisory and team player skills
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems
  • Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience:
JD or CPA preferred
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
Eight to ten years of experience in financial management required
  • Submission to a background check, professional references and proof of academic credentials is required
  • Base salary for the position is $400K annually plus a discretionary performance bonus of up to $2M per year
