Control Room Coach

Sumterville, FL
This position is responsible for kiln and cement process to achieve the production targets and KPI by adjusting optimizing the kiln process including guiding for the CCR operator and training them on kiln and mil trouble shooting. To regularly review and challenge the Operator's actions in a positive manner with the objective of developing Operator excellence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Complies with all safety policies, procedures, and established safe practices and ensures that all direct reports do the same.
  •  Review and improve operational procedures for kiln and mill, monitoring the kiln and mill parameters to reach the max production and reducing heat and energy consumption levels.
  • Coach operators in analyzing process problems and finding solutions for them; contribute in RCA’s.
  • Mentoring of the existing and new CCR. Ensure all operators use identical operating techniques and have a clear understanding of set points, operating parameters and kiln related issues.
  • Examination and re-evaluation of all existing kiln related SOPs.
  • Training and evaluating CCR operators
  • Training of both control room operator and field operators in Plant operation from a control room and field aspect.
  • Defining and tuning of operational control loops related to kiln operation.
  • The incumbent will work closely with the Production Manager, Maintenance Manager, Electrical and Automation personnel, Process group and laboratory group to make corrective changes and ensure optimum kiln performance.
Bachelor's Degree or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and have experience contributing to a positive, employee-oriented culture.
  • Good communication skills Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of RCA techniques
  • Previous control room operating experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in a Cement Plant Previous hands on experience with kiln operations and proven ability and temperament for coaching.
  • Previous control room operating experience
  • High ethical and professional standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary oral/written communication skills.
  • Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours.
