Sr Electrical Controls Engineer

Midlothlian, TX
Supervise process control systems and instrumentation of a Cement plant operation.
  • Maintain the control system of the plant and execute and control projects under $500K in the plant to keep systems up to date. 
  • Analyze control system failures finding the root cause of them, reducing or eliminating them. 
  • Actively participate in updating and improve process and control procedures and processes to improve the performance of the operation.
  • Job responsibilities include sustaining an injury free workplace, supporting compliance with regulatory initiatives, directing the workforce, trouble shooting control & field instrumentation issues, network infrastructure problems and resolving maintenance and calibration issues including hardware and software malfunctions.
  • Will directly supervise as needed, electricians, instrumentation, maintenance and production personnel in day to day maintenance of control and support systems along with contractors onsite.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested.
Requirements:
BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering degree
10 + years of process control and instrumentation in lieu of degree
Minimum of 5 years work and supervisory experience
Cement, Mining, Aggregates, Lime or related industry 
MSHA safety 

Electrical Qualifications:
  • Electrical systems
  • Industrial power infrastructure including 3 phase 480 VAC and 4160 VAC
  • Instrumentation
  • Process controls
  • PLCs and HMIs, such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.
  • Process control software, ladder logic and control programming such as WonderWare, Polcid, etc.
  • Networking including fiber optics, ControlNet, Ethernet, and   DH+
  • Computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
