Laboratory Technician - Quality Control

Our client, a leading heavy industrial manufacturer, is seeking a Laboratory Technician – Quality Control to join its laboratory team at a modern manufacturing facility in the Greater St. Louis area.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys laboratory testing, analytical work, troubleshooting equipment, and working closely with manufacturing operations to ensure product quality. Candidates with industrial laboratory or quality control experience are encouraged to apply.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing on raw materials, process materials, fuels, and finished products.
  • Collect, prepare, label, and maintain samples following established quality procedures.
  • Assist with the calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and analytical equipment.
  • Review, validate, and document laboratory results while maintaining accurate electronic records.
  • Support quality investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, organization, and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in rotating weekend and on-call coverage as required.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all established safety procedures.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent industrial laboratory experience.
  • Experience in laboratory testing, quality control, manufacturing, construction materials, mining, chemical processing, or other process manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Experience within the cement, aggregates, ready mix concrete, lime, asphalt, steel, or similar heavy industrial industries is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical data and troubleshoot analytical equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
